REMOVING TRACTOR WHEEL

The drive wheel of a farm tractor is usually more than one man can handle, and when it becomes necessary to remove one of these single-handed, some means has to be used to hold the ftheeL This can be done by driving the tractor under a strong branch of a tree. After placing a jack beneath the axle to hold the wheel from the ground, pas* a rope over the tree branch at a point above, but width of the wheel tyre out' side of the wheel. The rope is left doubled and the "nds are tied together. A stick is-inserted between the ropes and the latter are twisted together and

then lifted slightly and tied, as indicated. After it is loosened the weight of the wheel will cause it to slide from the axle. When replacing the wheel the rope is moved farther oat on the branch so that the whee' will swing toward the tractor. The very slight movement necessary to permit pushing the wheel on the axle can be effected by twisting or untwisting the rope.—"The Farmers' Advocate."
