TRENTHAM TOPICS.

LIMERICK BACK FROM SYDNEY. STARBOARD LIGHT, SCRATCHED. REED AND WEBSTER RIDING ON SATURDAY. (By Telegraph—Special to "Star.") WELLINGTON, Tuesday. On looks alone the two-year-old Gold Tinge will attract public attention when he parades for the Wellesley Stakes on Saturday. He is a rare good looker, .with plenty of size, and as he has already indicated, he is a galloper of exceptional ability. • Many a three-year-old lacks his commanding appearance. Gold Tinge is also credited with being a wellmannered colt, both in private and on the race track. The tracks at .Trentham at present are in perfect order. In fact, they tesemble a bowling green more than a. racecourse. Fine weather is all that is required in order that the Wellington Racing Club meeting shall be held under most ideal conditions. White Fang galloped very attractively at Trentham this morning. Except for wins in his own district this Polydamon gelding has not shown very good form since he returned from Australia, where he held his own in first-class handicap company, ,At Auckland this month, however, he ran a very good race in the Flying Handicap, seven furlongs, won by Branson. White Fang. 8.7, gave Branson 61b and Goshawk 111b, and was three lengths from the winner in the very, fast time of 1.26 2-5. -It transpired subsequently that White Fang 1 did not meet with the best of luck in this race, so that his performance was something approaching his best form. Starboard Light was scratched fojr all engagements at the Wellington spring meeting at 1.25 p.m. to-day. Limerick arrived from Sydney to-day I in charge of F. D. Jones. The Limond gelding has done well since he was thrown out of training, but while a complete recovery is eventually expected, it will be some time before he is again prepared for racing. R. Reed, .who went across to Sydney to ride Limerick in his engagements at Randwick, following upon M. McCarten's suspension, returned home by the Ulimaroa. In addition to resuming riding for the Williams-Jefferd stable, Reed will have the mount on Gay Ballerina in the Taita Handicap at Trentham on Saturday. He rode this filly when she ran third in the Gimcrack Stakes at Randwick.

A. D. Webster home to-day with First Acre, Moutoa Wonder and Greenfield. The light-weight jockey T. Webster ■ accompanied his father, and 011 Saturday at Trenthani he will ride Kilperon, Kilbronsvth and Mark Mint. Young Webster did well in Sydney, riding seven winners and«earning the praise of good judges for his riding. J. McCombc, the Kiccarton trainer, and, E, Stanway, the Auckland jockey, returned home by the Ulimaroa from Sydney to-day.

DASGAVILLE RACING CLUB.
