Miss Innes-Jones has returned to Te • Kuiti from a visit to Hamilton. Mrs. Gorrie, of Remuera, has been staying in Hamilton. Mrs. W. A. Graham has returned to Hamilton from a visit to Te Kuiti. Miss Hill, of Cambridge, is on a visit to Te Aroha. Mrs. Culford Bell, of Wellington, has returned home from a visit to Cambridge. Miss Oliver Kay has returned to Dunedin from a holiday spent in Hamilton. Miss D. Chrystall returned during the week to Christehurch. Mrs. Slee, of Westport, is staying in Rotorua after a visit to Hamilton. Miss M. Wheeler, has returned home to Wellington from Hamilton. Mrs. W. Horton, of Hamilton, is staying in Rotorua. Mrs. F. Rathbone has returned home to Auckland from a visit to Hamilton. Mrs. R. G. Guy, of Hamilton, is away in Rotorua. Miss Brewster has returned to New Plymouth from a trip to Hamilton. Miss S. Mrs. Parata has returned to Rotorua from a visit to Hamilton. Miss E. Scherer has returned to Hamilton from a holiday spent at Tongariro National Park. Mrs. E. H. Hammond has returned to Hamilton from a holiday spent in Wellington. Mrs. G. Weir, of Wellington, is on a visit to Hamilton. Mrs. A. Gordon, of Hamilton, is away on a visit to Australia. After the wedding of Miss Hilda Iris Roach and Mr. Seymour G. R. Brewis at St. Peter's Cathedral on Wednesday, a reception was held at the home bf Miss Riro Brewis, sister of the bridegroom, at Opoia Road, Claudelands. The large reception room was delightfully arranged with bowls of tangerine and yellow Iceland poppies and maidenhair fern. On Friday afternoon Miss Ethel Hammond gave an enjoyable progressive bridge party at her home in Clarence Street, Hamilton. The rooms were charmingly decorated with bowls of deep blue and scarlet anemones. Mrs. J. H. Hammond wore a black charmeuse frock; Miss E. Hammond, taffeta silk; Miss O. Shaw, soft beige georgette. A children's fancy dress dance held in the Ngahinapouri Hall on Tuesday was very well attended by young people from the surrounding districts. The judges for the fancy costumes were Mrs. D. S. Thomas, E. Reid, D. McGregor. A concert party organised by Mrs. J. G. Pomeroy gave a delightful concert to the patients in Ward X. at the Waikato Hospital on Thursday. Instrumental items were given by Mesdames Bartholemew, James, Misses Grice and James; songs by: Mr. and Mrs. Mason and Mrs. Brownlees. Miss Wynne James gave several recitations. The accompaniments were played by Mrs. Bartholemew and Miss Watson. A very bright little dance was held in the Claudelands Hall on Tuesday evening, arranged by the members of the Claudelands Young People's Club. The decorations were prettily carried out in pale blue and pink. The host and hostess were Mr. and Mrs. Chesterman. Those present included: Misses A. Barrett, E: Bliss, M. Greville, J. Manning, V. Bridge and "500" were played, the prizes being won by Mrs. Roberts, Mrs. Rawlinson, Mrs. Grant, Mrs. Norrell and Mrs. Bennett.
