LEFT-HANDED CHILD.

Dangerous To Work Against Nature. STAMMERING} DEVELOPS. ____ (United Service.) (Received 12 noon.) LONDON, October 1. It is dangerous to force a naturally left-handed child to become righthanded, according to Mr. H. Rumsey, a Guy's Hospital expert, because it overloads the left side of the brain. He says that the brain controls the hands diagonally and also that the left side of the brain controls speech. Nature makes some children lefthanded to give the speech centre extra room. Sometimes left-handed children when forced to be right-handed develop stammering, which ceases when they are allowed to follow instinct.
