CONFERENCE AT BLENHEIM.

SIR JOHN SALMOND TO ATTEND. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) BLENHEIM, this day. Air-Marshal Sir John Salmend, Com-mander-in-Chief of the air defences pi Britain, and Flight-Commandef Druniroond, of his staff, accompanied by Major T. M. Wilkes, New Zealand Director of Aviation, are expeeted to arrive in Blenheim to-day and to spend the night here. It is stated in aviation circles that a conference hetween Sir John and the representatives of the New Zealand Air Farce will be held in Blenheim to-night or on Wednesday morning, and that Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith and Flight-Lieutenant Ulm will be invited in a consultative capacity. The conference is being held to discuss aerial defence matters and has nothing to do with civil aviation.
