TRAMWAY MANAGEMENT.
In reply to "Ratepayer," who says it a apparently no person's business to report whether cars are full or empty, also his gibe at the inspectors' arduous duties, I want to tell him that every time an inspector checks a car he puts down the time, route, car number and number of passengers. "Ratepayer" must be eoloasally ignorant of tramway matters not to have known this. He further shows hkt ignorance by wanting all cars on going oat of traffic at 9 ajn. to go to the, city depot. Does he not know the men are attached to eaph depot and return there? Just fancy the cars all being left at the city depot, the mem to be paid travelling time to the Epsom depot, and travelling time back to the city depot to get their cars in the afternoon. A number of Epsom depot cars are going in just as ton school rush is on to the Girls' Grammar, Diocesan, St. Cuthberf s and other schools, and therefore get full loads. I would suggest to "Ratepayer" and the other correspondents who complained of air pumps working and shun ming doors that before they rush into print they should at least know a little of* ton subject they are writing about. TRAMWAY EMPLOYEE (Also a Ratepayer).
