A iljree — c:itcr car. solely occupied by Mr. Claude Mitchell, of Palmerston North, collided with a south-bound mixed train at Vinegar Hill, Hunterville, on Saturday. The car was so smashed that it was unrecognisable. The railway officials promptly attended to Mr. Mitchell and after ha had been treated by Dr. Mitchell ha ; was taken to the Strathniore Hospital, Hi> face was cut and he was badly bruised.
