REASON BETTER.
PREFERRED TO FORCE New Era In Britain's Economic Life. T.U.C. DECISIONS. (Australian and NZ. Press Association.) (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, September 9. Mr. J. H. Thomas, writing in the •'Sunday Express.'' says the chief significance attaching to the T.U.C. congress at Swansea was the overwhelming endorsement of the policy of negotiation with the employer?; the resort to reason instead oi to force. It means a new era of relationship between capital and labour. Mr. Walter Citrine, writing in "Reynolds' Weekly," says the congress marked the turning point in the economic life of Britain and brought the trades unions into profoundly important relationship with industry. It was in the clearest manner shown that unions were not pursuing a will-o'-the-wisp in industrial peace, but a practical effort to demonstrate its ability to contribute substantially to the solution of national ills.
