MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Moanataiarl.— I The manager reports that during the week the crosscut was advanced Mt. The country Is firmer, but of a good description. The reef over the back of the drive Is smaller, and a break has come cross the face. The reef dived into the footwall, and shows nice colours of gold. New Waiotahi.—The mine manager reports that the drive towards the Caledonian reef has been advanced ".ft for the week. The country being passed through is exceptionally favourable for gold should it reef lie met with. Only one shift is at present employed. Alliiirnia.—'l'he manager reports that No j rise on the hangingwall branch of the Orlando reef hns been put up another 4ft : total of _'Bft. The reef still averages 'Jft 6in wide, and hns been mixed up with mulock, but is .japroving again. The cleaning out of the drive north on the hangingwall branch of the Orlando reef has been completed, and the line relald. A start has been made driving on the reef. The clean Ing out of the drive on the footwall dropper of the Sons of Freedom reef hns been completed. and passe? put in ready for rising. Lucky Sbot.—The manager reports that (luring the past week work was confined to the drive north on the footwall dropper from the bottom of No. '2 winze. This drive U now out 15ft, and the dropper is Bft wide. The ore in heavily niineraiifd. and a few pounds of picked stone hnve be"'- .ernred n: ciich breaking down. The gold ig much riiarsi r than Uia/. found in the main level above on the same dropper. This drive will be pitched on. as it has every appearance of opening up a very large block of lilgh grade ore.
