NORTH SHORE CLUB. The North Shore Pigeon Club contested a race from Te Awamutu, a distance of 86 miles, and Mr. A. Gilbert scored a popular win with his red chec. cock, Bed Rover. Results:— Mr. A. The Avalon Pigeon Flying Club contested a race from Te Awamutu, an air-line distance of 86 miles, in boisterous weather. In spite of the strong westerly winds Mr. H. Mr. Chinas (1016.1 yds)), Mr. Stock en's (975 yds), Messrs. Irving and Don's (961 yds), Mr. Redman's (499 yds). Sixty-three birds, representing 10 lofts, competed. The club will hold a race from Ohakune nest Saturday. PONSONBY CLUB. Ponsonby Club flew a race on Saturday from Palmerston North, an airline distance of 248 miles. The birds were liberated at 8.30 a.m. by the stationmaster, in rough weather, but notwithstanding this the birds "put up a very creditable performance, cutting out the 248 miles in 7 hours 46 mins., the winning blrdj the property of Mr. W.
