HAWKE'S BAY CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. THE FIELDS REVIEWED. The annual meeting of the Hawke's Bay Hunt Club will be held at Hastings to-morrow. Fairly good fields are engaged, and the programme should provide an interesting day's racing. A dozen figure in the Riverslea Hunters' Hurdles, Ballyfarnon being topweight with 12.5. He performed well at the Gisbome Racing Club and Poverty Bay Hunt Club fixtures, winning a similar event at the latter with 12.9. Chrissarto has won over hurdles and was third to Brigadier Bill and Mount Marta at the Manawatu autumn meeting over a mile and three-quarters. Of the others Middleman and Sir Wai may be the best. The favourite division may be BALLYFARNON CHRISSARTO. Ballyfarnon is also engaged in the Park Hack Hurdles, and if reserved for this event will have a lot of support. Handy has won over steeples, while Braeman has scored over hurdles. Essential is reported to be jumping well, though he has yet to show his ability as a hurdler in public. Crishna was second to Ballyfarnon on the second day of the Gisborne meeting. In the absence of Ballyfarnon the best backed may be BRAEMAN CRISHNA. There are a lot of unknown quantities in the Maiden Plate, but on past form the best supported when the machine closes may be KINROSS AHALAMA. Nine are carded for the Hawkc's Bay Hunt Cup. Highway was third in the Gisborne Steeplechase and second in the Ferguson Gold Cup Steeplechase at the Poverty Bay Hunt meeting. Askari finished second to Mainspring in the Second Hack Steeplechase at Wellington last month and should be improved. Hollycombe won this event at the last Hawke's Bay Hunt meeting in June, and is'sure to be in request, while Bendover was third to him. The chief fancies may be

HOLLYCOMBE ASKARI. The Hawk heads the list in the Abbotsford Handicap, but the fact that he has not raced for some time may be against him. Kaiti, after his performances at the Hawke's Bay meeting and the Grand National, will probably be favourite. Tresham has not raced for some time, and the distance may be too short for him. Lipsol performed well during the early part of last season, but has not raced since March. Dreamy showed form at Gisborne and will have friends. The public will probably give most support to KAITT DREAMY. A dozen are engaged in the Soutra Hunters' Flat Handicap. First Prince was second at Gisborne to Singleton and won a mile event easily at the Poverty Bay Hunt meeting. Mountain Craig has not raced for a long time, while Highway is engaged in the steeplechase as well as this event. Saturn was second to Patuki in the Soutra Hunters' Flat at the previous Hawke's Bay Hunt meeting. Perhaps most of the investments will be entrusted to FIRST PRINCE SATURN. The Horonui Hack Handicap will conclude the programme, and recent form will probably cause the public to entrust most of their investments to PALE STAR PLIMMERTON.
