COLLEGE DANCE.

There was a delightful free-and-easy atmosphere at the dance held by the old girla of St. Cuthbert's Girls' College in the Scots Hall last evening. The function might easily be said to have taken place in a private drawing room. Bamboos, and other greenery were arranged in large clumps at the entrance, and bowls of spring flowers formed the decoration in the adjoining room, where bridge was played, and on the supper tables down stairs. The orchestra, on the stage, was seated against a background of velvet curtains, across which a single string of coloured lights was strung. The young girls, in their dainty little f >cks, made a most attractive picture as they danced round the room; youth and beauty were certainlv there.

On arrival the guests were reee. d by Mis* Clouston, principal of St. Cuthbert's College, who was wearing a frock of bronze and sapphire blue, embosed chenille, and by Miss Helen Asser, who was in rose pink georgette.
