PRIMARY SCHOOL SYLLABUS
COMMITTEE CRITICISED. . TECHNICAL TEACHERS' VIEWS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. During a discussion by the Technical Education Association on the reorganisation of the post-primary education system, the Syllabus Revision Committee's work came "in for some uncomplimentary criticism. The following resolution's were carried: — "That wherever possible pupils should be transferred to a post-primary school two vears earlier than at present, as advocated in the Hadow report and by the New Zealand Syllabus Revision Committee." "That there should be more than one type of post-primary school, as advocated in the Hadow report, but not by the committee, in those centres where the number of pupils warrant their establishment."
"That the proposed introduction of secondary subjects into the primary schools' syllabus should not be allowed to work "in the direction of a general revival of Standard VII. in centres served by post-primary schools, thus bringing about the establishment of l tops' ?ta primMX^eheak."
