The final match of the tern for tt* Corban Challenge Cup. a trophy open t* friendly societies in the Waiteniata difr trict, was played last evening bet*** Star of Henderson 1.0.0. F. (challengenl and Star of Avondale 1.0.0. F. (holdenf). The teams were very evenly matched, ani the game resulted in a win for Avondife by 11 points to 9. Avondale won the oV at the first elimination tournament, and have defended it successfully on six occt* sions. The members of the winning team who have played in all the matches are I Sommervillp. Mayall, Clement and Johnson. The cup will be handed in. to be played for at the next elimination matches commencing in September.
