Sir Frederic Lang, M.L.C., arrived bv the Limited express this morning. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hould, of Dunedin, arrived in Auckland yesterday on a short visit. Mr. L. O. Gibbs, of Taumarunui, was a passenger to Frankton by the Limited express this morning. Mr. W. Armitage, who has been staying a* Beach House, Takapuna, has left on a Holiday visit to Wellington. Mr. G. B. Lewis and Mr. O. Mills (Wellington) and Mr. M. Burley (Hamilton) are staying at the Albert Hotel.

Brigadipt-C.'eneral George M. M. Onslow has been appointed to the vacancy on the Principal Board in Sydney of the Australian Mutual Provident Society, caused by the death of Mr. W. M. Vindin.
Mr. B. Yates, Mr. J. R. Macintosh, Mr. and Mrs. J. Carroll, Mr. D. R. Huggard Mr. C. Scott, Mr. F. S. Rolls, and Mr. P. Hereford (Wellington), and Mr. H. Angell (Christchurch) are at the Star Hotel.
Mr. G. K. Mackley, chief clerk in the Dihtrict Traffic Manager's office at Ohakune Junction, has received notice of his transfer on promotion to the chief clerkship, head office, New Zealand Railways, Wellington. Mr. Macklev is a brother of Mr. J. F. Mackley, locomotive engineer for the North Island, New Zealand Railways.
