Eden district had been handed over to the Brixton •Koad School Committee in order that it might serve a useful purpose at the Brixton Road School is commented on by the chairman of the Brixton Road School Committee (Mr. A. W. Brockie), who states that the Mt. Eden Borough Council had no power to donate the firebell, and it was accordingly purchased by the school committee for £2.
