Four persons were killed in tropical storms which struck North and South Carolina yesterday, after having workt-d their way from the West Indies through Florida and Georgia last week. ™ Enormous damage was done jn the two last-named States. Some villages were levelled, trees in orchards were uprooted, and wide areas were flooded in the Piedmont section. Both North and South Carolina have been badly affected by the storms.
