The birds probably met severe weather as they were well separated and the velocities were slow. The first' Itird homed to Mr. \V. G. Walker's loft in Ponsonby, making a velocity of 862 yds per minute. The next bird to home was owned by that successful fancier, Mr. H. K. Crowhiirst. Only seven fanciers clocked in en the day.
