THE HEENEY-TUNNEY FIGHT.
(Published by Arrangement.)
The information contained in a recent telegram from Gisborne to the effect that the Atwater-Kent station 2ZM, learns through KDKA, Pittsburgh, that that station will broadcast the Heeney-Tunney fight on a wavelength of 26.5 metres, is of interest to all radio enthusiasts. Reference to Atwater-Kent reminds us that this great firm of radio-set makers for some time past has been "putting on the air" a series of Sunday night concerts, broadcasting through a chain of eighteen stations in America, and utilising the finest talent possible to procure. The famous pianist Benno Moiseiwitsch, who recently gave a series of recitals in Auckland, was one of these artists, and in an interview referred to the distinguished artists who appeared before the microphone under the auspices of Atwater-Kent. This fact in itself is sufficient proof of the enterprise of this great radio firm. The sales of Atwater-Kent sets now total nearly two millions—a world's record. This phenomenal success is entirely due to the wonderful qualitv of the instruments. Selective, yet with an all-embracing range, sensitive to the slightest signal, volume sufficient for all purposes, and with tonal qualities which, must be heard to be fully appreciated, the Atwater-Kent is without peer, and yet the various models are sold at prices to suit the most moderate purse. The Auckland distributors are the well and favourably known firm of Prank Wiseman, Ltd., 170-172, Queen Street, where all information can be obtained. Wiseman's also specialise in the high and low wave Courier eets, whilst for the home constructor or experimenter any parts or equipment are fully stocked, at prices which are indeed competitive.
