FERRIES COLLIDE.
ON BIRKENHEAD RUN.
MISHAP IN THE FOG. MINOR DAMAGE ONLY. A collision occurred in mid-harbour this morning between the ferry steamers Albatross and Sparrowhawk, the result being minor damage to the bulwarks of the former vessel. The Sparrowhawk left Auckland at 7.45 for Birkenhead, and at the same hour tne Albatross left the other side of the harbour with passengers for the city. The collision occurred in thick fog, the impact being sufficient to bring both vessels to a standstill. When it was realised that the mishap was not of a serious nature the vessels continued on their respective ways.
