A FAMILY HERD BOOK.
A record of performance is also, in the case of a cow, the only guide as to #hether the yield of milk and butterfat is a source of profit or a source of loss. Milk records are also very valuable in breeding records, and the longer those records are kept the more valuable they become. Every progressive farmer should have a family herd book, giving all data of his herd, i.e., pedigree, age, colours, milk and butterfat records and a record of progeny.
