CHARITY DANCE.

The monster charity dance given on Monday by the North Shore Rowing Club in the Parish Hall, at Devonport, proved a great success. The hall was attractively decorated with red, white and blue streamer*, radiating from a large hanging centrepiece towards the walls, which were lightly screened with large palm leaves and balloons, whilst crimsonshaded lights cast a warm glow over everything. The use of the hall was given by the Church of England, and the Kit Kat orchestra, which played excellent music, gave its services free, each concession being a welcome help to the cause, which is to benefit the Melrose Park unemployment relief fund and Canon Grant men's 'shelter, Parnell Road. A Government subsidy of fiftyfifty is to be given for the unemployment relief fund, whilst the takings from the cafeteria supper are to augment the men's shelter share.
