GRAIN AND PRODUCE.
CANTERBURY MARKETS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. The potato market has slowed down to Rome extent since the week-end, but the advance recorded then has been maintained. -Julys, as a matter of fact, have been sold at a 2/6 advance, or £6 5/, f.o.b. August-Septembers are unaltered at £6 12/6, but sales liave not been numerous for this period. The Wingatui is due to sail to-morrow from Lyttelton for Auckland with, it is expected, from 3000 to 4000 sacks, and the probabilities are that there will be only one more boat this month. There is not much new business as far as farmers are concerned, and any there is ranges at up to £3 a ton on trucks. . There is more wheat offering, but it is mostly of No. 2 standard. Prime Milling holds recent values, about 5/8 a bushel on trucks. Although there has been no rush to accept the millers oner of some time ago for contract growing, on a basis of s—ll, f.o.b. Lyrtelton, for next .season's crop, a few fanners have signed up recently. Oats are lifeless at 4/, f.0.b., for A. Gartons.
