BULL IN WHARF SHED.
CAPTURED AFTER STRUGGLE. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Much excitement was provided to-day by a Polled Angus bull, which broke away from the Thorndon railway yards, wandered across the reclamation* and entered a shed on the Pipitea wharf. The doors were promptly closed upon the animal, but attempts to lassoo it resulted in its making furious charges, which caused the onlookers to seek the safety of pillars and walls. This went on for some time, but eventually a man was lowered in a basket from a crane, and he slipped a rope over the beast's neck. Even then, half an hour's struggle ensued before the bull could be partly hoisted and rendered incapable of a further struggle. He was then trussed up and given a free ride back to the yards.
