Footfall enthusiasts are well catered for in pages ot snaps of the Wairarapa v. Canterbury match for the Ranfurly Shield, Auckland v. Thames at Eden Park, and the Auckland v. Canterbury League match at Carlaw Park. A striking feature are the scenes at the famous Epsom racecourse on Oaks Day, and the Trooping the Colour on the King's birthday. Stage, screen, and fashions have an artistic showing of charming portraits. To enumerate a few of the varied subjects, may be mentioned "Beauty Queens of the Universe," and Miss America, motor racing, return of Sir Alan Cobham after African flight, Sydney sheep show. The City Fire Brigade received a call to Richmond Road at about one o'clock-to-day. A truck, owned by Tattersfield's, Ltd.. became ignited owing to a backfire. A little wiring was damaged. The truck is insured with the New Zealand Insurance Company for £S5.
