EDEN ELECTORATE
MR. L. A. RHODES DECLINES
Regret tEat he could not conte-t the Eden seat at the general election was expressed by Mi. L. A. Rhodes, Mayor of Mount Albert, yesterday. Mr. Rhodes was recently asked by a deputation that he should stand in the Reform interests. In declining the request of the deputation he said he hoped to be able to con-te-t a -eat on a future occasion.

He states that five candidates j in the Tauranga and two in the Thames j electorate are being considered, and a j selection will be made at an earlv date. A candidate for Raglan has been chosen | to take the place of Mr. Smith, who ; has been compelled to retire owing to illness in his family. Walter, M.P. for Stratford, to stand for reelection. Mr. J. B.
