Mr. L. S. Amerv, Dominion Secretary, was questioned regarding a statement by the Prime Minister of Ontario, Mr. G. H. Ferguson, upon the way in which American influence and methods were permeating Canadian life and whether His Majesty's Government would co-operate in the proposal for an Empire conference of men of affairs to review the means of strengthening AngloCanadian relations. Mr. Amery said he had seen Press reports of the speech by the Prime Minister of Ontario as to the proposed Empire conference. This was a conference of business interests and was hardlv one in which the British Government'could take the initiative but they would always hope to co-operate with any other Governments in the Empire in acfcttxug for JAe kaxfe-
