CHATHAM CUP TIE.

OBJECTION'S TO TRAVELLING. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. A special meeting of the council of the New Zealand Football Association took place this afternoon to deal with objections from the Y.M.C.A. (Auckland), who wished its Chatham Cup match with North Auckland at Whangarei next Saturday to be transferred to Auckland, on account of the expense of travelling, and because a better gate would be the result. It would not guarantee the expenses of the North Auckland team. Another objection was from Hawke's Bay (Hastings United), which had been ordered to play its match with Petone at Wellington next Saturday, the We! lington Association having guaranteed £2.» toward the expenses of the Hastings team. Originally the council had decided that the match between the winners of the Hawke's Bay v. Jlanawatu match and Tetone should be played at Palmerston North, but correspondence had stated that it would be played at Hawke's Bay, in the event of Hawke's Bay winning against the Manawatu team, as it did. The Wellington Association, in order to avoid too much travelling for the Petone versus Wellington finalists, offered to guarantee Hastings United £2-5 to play in Wellington next Saturday. Hastings meanwhile wrote that it would be prepared to subscribe £10 toward Petone's expenses of going to Hastings.

The New Zealand Council took a passage in the letter describing their travelling arrangements, "should th *y come to Wellington," aa meaning that Hawke's Bay were willing to come to Wellington, and decided that the match should be played in Wellington. This was followed up by the protest from Hawke's Bay. It was decided to telegraph to the Hastings Club giving reasons for the decision. The council strongly urged the Hawke's Bay Association to get the Hastings team to Wei lington for next Saturday.

Regarding the Auckland v. North Auckland game, it was decided to telegraph to Auckland that the original decision to plav at Whangarei must stand, unless the two come to a mutual decision.
