OBITUARY.

MRS. S. J. COLLINS. At the advanced age of 88 years. Mrs. Selina Jane Collins died on Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. Cawdron. Amy Street, Ellerslie. She was born at Taunton, Somersetshire, England, and camc to New Zealand with her husband, Mr. Henry Collins, in 1877. They farmed at Epsom, and afterwards at Xgaruawahia, and then returned to Auckland, where, for ten years, Mr. Collins was employed by Sanford, Ltd. The following children survive their parents: Mr. W. Collins, of Avondale; Mfc, J. Collins, of Ellerslie; Mr. Edwin Collins, of Parnell; Mrs. F. Welch, of F.dendale: and Mrs. Cawdron, of Ellerslie. There are 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

SISTER IfIARY McALISTER. A member of the order of the Sisters (if Mercy died yesterday at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Mount Eden. .Sister Mary de Pazzi McAlister was born in Galwav, Ireland, 58 years ago, and went to Sydney where she received instruction in nursing at St. Vincent Hospital. Afterwards she returned to Europe, and was nursing in hospitals in England and on the (,'ontinent. Then she went back to Sydney, and finally came to Auckland to th" Mater Misericordiae Hospital. In 1911 she entered St. Mary'? Convent, and spent a portion of her time in visiting the sick and the needy.

MRS. SARAH POLLARD. Born in Auckland 79 years ago, Mrs. Sarah Pollard died on Sunday at Arnev Road, Remuera, in the residence of her son, Mr. G. G. Pollard. She was married 60 years ago to the late Mr. Alfred Pollard, of Auckland, in All Saints Church, Ponsonby. Her early married life was spent at Thames and Coromandel. She is survived by eight children, thirty-five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. The interment took place to-day at the Anglican Cemetery, Panmure.

MRS. ELIZABETH GRAY. (Bj Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) CAMBRIDGE, Monday. The death occurred on Thursday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. J. Wright, Pukerimu, of Mrs. Elizabeth Gray, relict of the late William Gray, aged f»9 years. The late Mrs. Gray had been residing in Remuera for several years and came for a holiday six months ago. -Deceased was born in Hercock, County C'avan, Ireland, and came out to New Zealand 44 years ago. For several years she resided at East Tamaki and upon her marriage came to Cambridge, where she had resided ever since, until retiring to Auckland eight years ago. Her husband predeceased her two years ago. Deceased is survived by three daughters, Mesdames Harvey (Hastings), Wright (Pukerimu), and Miss Gray (Remuera).

MR. J. M. KILLEN. FORMER MAYOR OF WHANGAREI. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, Monday. The death occurred last evening at his residence in Maiuiu Road, of Mr. James Miller Killen, aged 80 years. He was born in County Down, Ireland, and became a Presbyterian minister. He arrived in New Zealand nearly 50 years ago, and had charges at Tauranga and W hangarei. He then entered the legal profession and practised in Whangarei until his retirement ten years ago. Mr. Killen was the first Mayor of Whangarei, being elected in October, 1800, and he retained office until November. 1899. He was again elected Mayor in 1901-2 and 1904-5, and he also served on other local bodies. He is survived by his wife and an adult family of six children.
