BUTCHER BOY'S JOY-RIDE.
EMPLOYER'S LIABILITY. PASSENGER INJURED. '"He want* £120 because a butcher's hoy gave him a ride in a truck." said Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court this morning, when the case of Herbert Charles Evans (Mr. .Taeobson i, versus Henry Speers Parsons (Mr. Mackayi. «a= heard. The plaintiff claimed the sum of £12.5 damages for injuries received in an accident while he was riding in defendant's motor truck. Evidence was given by plaintiff, who said he met the driver of the truck in a hotel. They had some drink. Mr. Hunt: No doubt about it that he was full fo beer. After they left the hotel, said witness, they collided with a telegraph poie. Defendant disclaimed liability. He -aid when the accident occurred the driver was not on his business. He was. at the time, under notice of dismissal. and had no right to be driving where he was. Mr. Mackay said he certainly admired his friend's hardihood for bringing the ca ; e. After Mr. Hunt had declared the claim prepo-terou-. plaintiff's solicitor applied for a non suit.
