Air. E. Merritt. was found. j Constable Nehoff and Mr. Cobbald. ; wiio discovered the body, brought it in !a launch to Rawene, where the inquest jwas formally opened yesterday. Ca;>jtain Berridge's soil took the body to | Auckland to-day by train. ! The body of -Mr. D. Teixeira. mate of i the schooner. was round yesterday, also jon the Mitimiti Beach, and it was • brought into Rawene this morning. It j is now lyinjj in the hospital morgue. Captain Teixeira identified the body j a- that of h:s tnother. and will take it to Auckland. j Tlie inquest will be held nt 10 o'clock ; to-morrow. Wreckage *s still coming ashore, and it is thought that the hull of tlie schooner ha- broken up. The beaches are still patrolled by police and others.
