FISHING SMACK ASHORE.
OWNER AND WIFE ON ISLAND. THREE DATS WITHOUT FOOD. PICKED UP BY MOA. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. When the scow Moa, in charge of Captain Norton, was passing Hen Island yesterday afternoon, he saw the auxiliary fishing launch Hillary on the rocks, where she stranded on Tuesday. He picked up the owner, Mr. Thomas Donovan, and his wife, the latter of whom was found to be in a state of exhaustion. Neither had had any food for three days. | The scow took them to their home at Taurikura Bay, in Whangarei Harbour. It is understood Mrs. Donovan is making a good recovery and medical aid was not necessary. The extent of the damage to the launch is not known, but it i- anticipated that if the weather remains calm it can be refloated.
