John Farrow, 23-year-old .Australian scenarist, novelist and playwright, was lately signed to a contract by Paramount. His work is one of the sensations of the motion picture industry, and he has tried every branch of screen writing with success. New Zealand audiences saw evidence of his ability in "The Showdown," George Bancroft's starring picture, which was released recently in New Zealand and Australia. Farrow wrote the titles for this production and they contribute very largelv to its success. The screen plays of two pictures now in production at the Paramount studios were also written by him. The pictures are "Ladies of the Mob," starring Clara Bow, and Pola Negri's next starring production, "Fedora." Farrow is now busy writing the screen version of "The First Kiss," which will be the first Paramount picture co-starring Gary Cooper and Fay Wrav.
