CRIME AT HOME.

Investigation ,Of Police

Methods.

SEQUEL TO SIR L. MONEY CASE

(Australian and N.Z. Presa Association.)

LONDON, July 13.

The reports of the Savidge tribunal are to be issued to-day. The next stage will be the inquiry promised by the Home Secretary, Sir William Joyn-son-Hicks, into police methods generally. It is gathered that it is most likely that a Royal Commission will be appointed instead of a Departmental committee.

It is understood the inquiry will be extended to the police system not only in London, but throughout the country. It will be the greatest investigation of its kind ever held, and will be both comprehensive and ruthless.

SAVIDGE REPORT.

COMMISSION DIVIDED

(■Australian Press Assn. —United Service.) (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON. July 13. The Savidge majority report accepts the police version of the Scotland Yard interview, especially with regard to the alleged improprieties, but has recommended changes of procedure.

Mr. Lees Smith's minority report accepts Miss Savidge's version and considers that the episode discloses perils to civil liberty.
