MB. r. c. JACOBS APPOINTED
WITHDRAWAL OF MR. RHODES.
At a special meeting of the Auckland Hospital Board yesterday, Mr. F. C. Jacobs, of Auckland, was appointed engineer to the board subject to Ministerial approval. Early in the present month Mr. A. E. Rhodes, of Auckland, was appointed to the position, but he has written to the board withdrawing his application. When the position was advertised some 200 applications were received, and the number was reduced to 10 by a special comfaittee. The 10 applicants subsequently appeared before the board.
