In the course of a discussion by delegates of the Northern companies siu>porting the National Dairy Association of the scheme for the disposal of surplus calves, the probable number of calves each company was prepared to send to Moerewa was given as follow:—Northern Wairoa, 7000; Maungatapere. 1600; Waipu, 1000; Maungaturoto, 1000; Hikurangi, 3000; Bav of Islands, 2000; Whangarei, 3.300.
The Moerewa freezing works will open lor receiving calves oa J', y 31.
