FATAL DASH ACROSS ROAD.
CHILD KILLED BY CAR. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TE AROHA, Friday. An adjourned inquest was held to-day concerning the death of Kenneth Charles Brinkley, aged 7 years, who died at Mangaciti on July 3 as a result of being run over bv a motor car.
The evidence of the driver and passengers was to the effect that the boy darted across the road, head down. He was not observed by the driver until it was too late.
After hearing the evidence Mr. J. C. Carroll, who appeared for the parents of the boy, said they had asked him to inform tbe > coroner that they were convinced the'driver of the car was utterly blameless for an altogether unavoidable accident.
The coroner returned a verdict of accidental death.
