JUNE A BUSY MONTH
HALF YEAR'S FIGURES (Australian and X.Z. Press Association.) (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, July 12. The Board of Trade's returns for June last as compared with those of June, 1927, are as follow: —
Imports have increased £24,000. exports £3,491,000, re-exports, £855,000. The principal increases are:—lmports: Raw cotton. £1.93,.000. Exports: Machinery, £1,164.000: vehicles, £875,000. Decreases: — Imports: Grain and Hour. £2,514,000: iron and steel manufactures thereof, £773.000. Exports: Coal, £452-000; cotton and varns manufactures. £500,000. Increase in imports: Hides and skins. £659,000. Decreases in imports: Haw wool, £897.000: rubber, £959,000. June Figures. There has been a decrease in imports of iron and steel manufactures with a substantial increase in the exports of machinery and kindred lines. The half-year's totals, too, are the biggest in recent periods.
