MAN INJURED BY 15ft FALL

OPOTIKI, this day,
As the result of a fall from a building, W. Megaw, an unmarried man, was admitted to the public hospital suffering from injuries to his head and hands. Mr. IJegaw was engaged as a sub-contractor m demolishing the old Waiotahi cheese factory, find was working at a height of about I.3ft from the ground, when he fell :i11(1 was rendered unconscious. He was attended by his mate, D. Hunia, who took liim to the hospital. It is understood that the Kusaibs Motor Srrvicc has been successful in securing the ti'iidei' for carrying mail between Tanealll n (the railhead) and Opotiki. The pri en is about £400. The Opotiki Sunshine League, recently formed, held a successful ball in aid of thf funds of the Opotiki Hospital. A profit of £50 is expected, which, with.the Government subsidy, will provide _ £100 for urgent requirements at the hospital.
