PLUNGED INTO CREEK.
MOTOR TRUCK AND DRIVER. PASSENGER FOUND INJURED. /Bv TelcgriMili— ' »\vn Correspondent^ TE AWAMUTU, this day. . A light truck, driven by Jack Chadwick, left the Oliaupo Road at a bend about 7.30 last night, and toppled into the creek. It was completely submerged, but the driver extricated himself, and scrambled to the bank. It is believed that Chadwick met a ear with strong lights which dazzled him. It was known that Chadwick had a companion named Phil Murtagh, and it was feared that he had been pinned under the car, as there was no trace of him, but later he was picked up walking along the road, abotit three miles from the scene of the accident. He was suffering from injuries to his head, and a doctor ordered his removal to tiie Waikato hospital. How Murtagh was injured is not known.
