DAIRY PRODUCE BOARD.
FORMER CHAIRMAN THANKED MR. GOODFELLOW'S RESIGNATION. (By Telograph—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The Dairy Produce Board, on the motion of Mr. W. lorns, the newlyelected chairman, resolved to place on record a hearty vote of thanks to Mr. W. Crounds for his services as chairman. Mr. lorns said they all appreciated the very hard work that Mr. Grounds did to get the Control Board Act put on the Statute Book. They recogniscd that everything he had done had been done as best in his mind for the industry. Mr. Corrigan seconded the motion, which was supported by other members of the board. In reply, Mr. Grounds said the members' observations were deeply appreciated, and he would still do his >ery best in conjunction with other members of the board for the industry. Mr. Goodfellow forwarded his official resignation by cable from Australia. In accepting it, the board placed on record a motion of appreciation of his services to the industry. In paying a tribute, the chairman said Mr. Goodfellow had been a very prominent member of the board, and had given the board some very useful information. Nobody in the Dominion was his superior in knowledge in the handling of dairy produce, and the board should thank him for his services.
Recognition was also made of the services of Mr. W. Bryant, recently defeated by Mr. W. Lee. The latter was welcomed to the board.
It was decided to recommend Mr. Ferguson, chairman of the Norfolk Downs Co-operative Company, and of the South Island Dairy Factories' Association, to fill the vacancy caused by Mr. Goodfellow's resignation.
