WELLINGTON MEETING.

SECOND DAY AT TRENTHAM. BISOX'S PARLIAMENT ART. GOLD CURE BREAKS MAIDEN. MAINSPRING SCORES IN HACK STEEPLES. SEATOUN SEVEN TO KING MART. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") TRENTHAM, this day. The Wellington Racing Club's ' three days' winter meeting, which opened yesterday, is being continued to-day in tine, though dull, weather, before a large attendance, and will be concluded on Saturday. The course is on the heavy side.

All paraded for the Corunna Hurdles, and Quincoma was the public's choice (carrying £92(»), while Troilus (593) and Red Bank (£432) were next in request. Erin-go-Bragh led past the stands from Waltzer, Heisler, Hymgreat, .Good Sport, Quincoma, Troilus, Red Bank, Sir Moment and Lady Passenger, with Atereria last. At the hurdle along the back Good Sport fell, and Troilus went over the top of him, while Chiekwheat almost pulled up trying to avoid them. Quincoma led across the top from Waltzer, Erin-go-Bragh, Hymgreat and Sir Knox,

and easily stalling off Sir Moment in the straight won by two lengths. Lady Passenger was a length away third, with Red Bank, Hyingreat, Erin-go-Bragh, Waltzer, Chickwheat and Atareria next. A Favourite Beaten. All carded paraded for the Maiden Handicap, for which Mark Mifit was best supported, being entrusted with £1333, while Greyflnch (£ii47) and Gold Cure (£532) were best backed of the others. Barneses, Greyfinch, Mark Mint and Gold Cure were the lenders when they settled down, with Otairi last. (Sold Cure and Mark Mint led on to the course proper, where Otairi came through. (Jold Cure went on to win by two lengths from Mark Mint, who beat Otairi by a head. I Veronese was fourth, with Billion and Imarosebud next.

King Mart Pays Nice Price,

C'arinthia ( 4^!>S7) was favourite for the tteatoun Handicap, for ,which all started, with Maui ( £70!)) and Freeze Out ( £(tofi) next best backed. Kindle, C'arinthia, Freeze Out, King Mart. Volplane, Marjoram and Le Champ was the order as they raced along the back, but by the time the top was reached Freeze Out and Volplane were at the head of affairs, with C'arinthia, Marjoram. Le Champ and Maui next. They entered the straight, in that order, when King Mart, Marjoram and Maui drew out. King Mart scoring by a length from Marjoram, who beat Maui by half a head. The Mug, Closefire, Carinthia and Freeze Out followed. The winner paid a nice price. Jovial Loses Rider. The seven starters in the Hack Steeples all negotiated the first, fence safely. Jovial then went on in front from San Fera and Askari, with Indian Chief tailing off. At the stand double, with a round to go, Mainspring had improved his position and was racing behind Jovial, with San Fera, Oriflamb and Askari handy. Jovial lost his rider at the gorse fence, leaving Mainspring in front of San Fera. Along the back Askari moved up second, but lost ground through hitting the second fence from home. Mainspring continued safely and won comfortably from Askari, with San Fera third. Indian Chief was pulled up. Five Finish in Chief Event. Fourteen started for the chief event of the day, the Parliamentary Handicap, for which Ring Boy was made a better favourite than Nukumai. From i good start Kilperon was quickest away. There were several early changes, but with half a mile to go Kilmiss was the leader from Royal Mint, Ring Boy, Nukumai and Bisox. Before reaching the home turn Nukumai had taken charge and was still in front at the false rail, with Bisox and Ring Boy handy. A great race home saw Bisox wear "down Nukumai. and win by a head, with Ring Boy close up third. Royal Mint and Black Mint followed. Results: — CORUNNA HURDLES of 270sovs. One mile and a-half.
