Scrivener, of London, has been appointed lecturer on soil and inorganic chemistry at Massey Agricultural College. Suggestion made that missing Belgian financier, Captain Lowenstein, escaped from aeroplane by parachute and was picked up by a fishing boat. London wool sales have opened with keen competition by Continental and Yorkshire operators, with late values generally well maintained. Fifty-five out of 58 members of the Dunedin Manufacturers' Association, who answered a questionaire, favour the re-enactment of the summer time law. The London dairy produce market is still favourable to New Zealand producers and private cables advise that there is more doing in butter at 178/ per cwt, with cheese nominally up to 110/.
