HAMILTON TECHNICAL SCHOOL ' LUNCHEON ROOM LIKE A DUNGEON." (K.v Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Tuesday. At a meeting last evening the gover nors of the Hamilton Technical High School were unanimous in the opinion that the existing accommodat iin of pupils cannot continue much longer. A detailed report on the urgent needs of the college was presented bv the principal. Mr. \V. Fraser. who described the trving conditions under which some pupils worked.
The principal said the Director of Education realised the school was in need of these improvements. Since 10 - 2(i the school roll had increased by .".0 per cent, and he was satisfied the Govern - Tnent would not tolerate such a state of affairs in a factory. In the phvsio* and electricity laboratories the pupils were working under the greatest difficulties. The ollice accommodation was quite insufficient for the size of the school, and the principal was often obliged to receive visitors in a corridor. The girls' luncheon room was little more than a dungeon.
The principal was asked to prepare a comprehensive report on the requirements of the institution.
