Hon. E. W. Alison, M.L.C., was a passenger for the south by last evening's express.
Professor P. W. Burbidge, of the Auckland University College, left for Wellington by train last evening.
Mr. Bruce Elliot, a son of Sir George Elliot, of Auckland, has passed his LL.B. examination at the Cambridge University. A younger son, Mr. G. P. Elliot, has passed his first year's examination in law at Cambridge University. Archbishop Averill returned to Auckland yesterday afternoon from a visit to the Thames district. On Sunday he held a confirmation service in St. George's Church, Thames. On Monday he addressed the Thames Rotary Club at luncheon. In the course of the trip he also visited Tapu, Thornton's Bay and Turua. Mr. and Airs. E. J. Prendergast returned to Auckland this morning by the Ulimaroa from Sydney. Mr. Prendergast has been in Australia for two months on a health recruiting trip. 1
