NEW DEVONPORT WHARF.
Allow me to criticise the arrangements at the opening of the new wharf at Devonport • on Saturday. The people who have kept the' ferries going for so many years and who have all given their share in building the new wharf were kept out in the pouring rain while a boat load of city folk were given shelter and afternoon tea. Surely those responsible could have at least opened the wharf and given shelter to the local people, who had braved the weather, for the new wharf was by no means crowded inside.
