It is thought that Mr. Horace who was burnt to death in his hou- e in York Place, was dead before ilit arrival of the fire brigade, which received a belated call.
Mr. Mann, who was 62 years of &?■?. was an enthusiastic tramper, a prominent member of the Manchester Unity Oddfellows* Lodge in Dunedin, ajid a Mason. For the last year or two he had carried on a mercery businass in Ge> w Street.
