ISLAXD BAi* LEAGUE.

_ A meeting of the Island Bay Progressive League (incorp.) was held on Saturday evening, Mr. C. F. Fowler presiding. On the motion of the chairman, a vote of appreciation and thanks was passed to the Birkenhead Borough Council tor attending to the footpath and approach to wharf.

It was decided to support the Auckland Harbour Bridge Association in their aim 6 and a donation of £2 2,' was voted from the league.

Considerable discussion took place with reference to the restrictions imposed on the 12-trip tickets issued by the Upper Ferry Company, and an application ti have same removed i-> to be made. Wharf age charges for the winter months were held in abeyance pending the decision of the company.

With reference to the slippy condition of the wharf step*, cork matting is to be provided.
