HAURAKI DRAINAGE.
THE SCHEDULE OF KATES. The Hauraki Drainage Board decided to levy the following schedule of rates:— A class land. 2-3 d in the pound; B class land, 4-sd. Special rates: Horahia loan, fd on A land and 5-Sd on B land; Hauraki loan, 5-8 d on A land, and $d on B land, and 5-8 d on C land; Hauraki central loan, 13-32 d on A land, 9-32 d on B land, and l-8d on C land. The board decided to adopt a legal opinion from Mr. E. L. Walton, advising that rating for special loans must be made on the A. B, and C classification of land previously in use. Mr. Kneebone reported that the Lands Department had agreed to construct a new drain from a floodgate to the river in order to improve the capacity of the Jubilee outlet drain. The Department also notified the route to be followed by a new main drain to drain more efficiently land between the Wliarepoa, Kerepeehi and Kopuarahi districts.
