DEVONPORT ORPHANS' CLUB.
Despite boisterous weather on Saturday evening the Devonport Orphans' Club had a very enjoyable evening together. The Mayor of Devonport, Mr. E. Aldridge, presided and addressed the gathering on the topic "Devonport the Undeniable." The Orphans' Orchestra conducted by Mr. D'Authreau, contributed four spirited numbers, "Light Cavalry," "Moonbeams," "The Dervishes "Chorus" and "Colonel Bogey March." Instrumental items were contribued by Mr. Langridge and Master J. McGregor; the vocalists were Merrs. Arthur Bree, Ben. Rutledge and Wm. Farrow; while Messrs. Rex Yates, Perry Taylor and Norman Tate were responsible for some entertaining humour.
